Indonesian Copyright Law


Works Protected under Copyright: 

In this Law, a work that is protected shall be the work in the field of
science, arts and literature which includes:
  1. books, computer programs, pamphlets, typographical arrangement of published works, and all other written works;
  2. sermons, lecturers, addresses and other works of utterance;
  3. visual aid made for educational and scientific purposes;
  4. songs or music with or without lyrics;
  5. dramas, musical dramas, dances, choreographic works, puppet shows, pantomimes;f. all forms of art, such as paintings, drawings, engravings, calligraphy, carvings, sculptures, collage, and applied arts;
  6. architecture;
  7. maps;
  8. batik art;
  9. photography;
  10. cinematographic works;
  11.  translations, interpretations, adaptations, anthologies, data-base another works as a result of changing of form of mode.

  • Article 44d: the reproduction and distribution of copyrighted content through IT and communications media where such use is non-commercial in nature;
  • Article 46(a): making one copy of a computer program for backup or research and development purposes;
  • Article 47: making one copy of any type of work for personal use; 
  • Article 50: temporary copies of works made by digital media.
